40% of patients feel rushed during physician appointments

A new Nuance Communications survey has found that nearly half of patients feel rushed during physician appointments, according to an HIT Consultant report.

In effort to maximize the time spent with physicians, patients are working to become engaged with their health outside of the office, according to the report.

•    80 percent of patients feel engaged in their own healthcare
•    68 percent of patients compile a list of questions for each physician visit
•    39 percent of patients turn to an online source of information prior to a physician visit
•    20 percent of patients bring health data from outside sources to a physician visit
