Supreme Court won't hear IPAB challenge — For now.
The Supreme Court has decided not to hear a challenge to the Affordable Care Act's Independent Payment Advisory Board at this time, according to the Goldwater Institute.

South Carolina, Minnesota and Texas top WalletHub's 2015 Best and Worst States for Doctors report.

Memorial Health to fully acquire Ohio surgery center.
Memorial Health, based in Marysville, Ohio, will fully acquire the Marysville Ohio Surgical Center, according to a Columbus Business First report. Memorial Health will buy out Nueterra and 10 physicians to assume full ownership of the 10,000-square-foot, multispecialty surgery center. The system currently has a 38 percent stake in the center.

The Surgery Center of Scottsdale earns AAAHC accreditation.
The United Surgical Partners International affiliate will have four operating room, three procedural rooms, specialty centers and 12 staff physicians. Amber Bruns is the administrator and Tory McJunkin, MD, is the medical director.

Medical Facilities Corporation released its 2014 Annual Report.
MFC's revenue was up 0.9 percent to $311.8 million. Income from operations was down 2.8 percent from $73.3 million in 2014 to $71.2 million. The company's operating margin dipped 3.8 percent to 22.8 percent. Read the full report on Becker’s ASC Review.

Dr. Kevin Biese, an advisor to mobile health app TouchCare, speaks with Becker's about the upsides and downsides to m-health.
“Using mHealth as a tool for the provision of quality care is going to be invaluable to providers as they deliver continuous, value based care. LifeBridge's Carroll Hospital Center acquisition leads to a $250M investment in an ambulatory care center, other projects.
As part of LifeBridge Health's acquisition of Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, Md., LifeBridge plans to invest $250 million in upgrades to the hospital, including a neonatal care unit and an ambulatory care center, according to a Baltimore Business Journal report.
