3 points on Las Vegas’ booming outpatient surgery market

Patient demand for outpatient services is driving more and more performed ambulatory procedures in the Las Vegas Valley, according to a Las Vegas Review-Journal report.

Here are three key points on surgery centers in Southern Nevada:

  1. Southern Nevada contains 44 of the 63 ASCs in the state.
  2. Nevada law requires ASCs to prepare plans for external emergency care, if necessary, to the chagrin of some hospitals in the area.
  3. Las Vegas is ripe for outpatient center expansion. According to Larry Staples, an architect who remodeled one ASC, “there is availability in the market for almost anything anybody wants to do,” reports Las Vegas Review-Journal.
