Medigus enters orthopedic market through A.M. Surgical agreement — 4 insights

A.M. Surgical selected Medigus to develop and manufacture an integrated visualization device to work with Stratos, a product for endoscopic procedures.

A.M. Surgical develops and markets devices for upper and lower extremity surgeons. Medigus designs and manufactures endoscopic and micro-camera systems.

Here are four things to know:

1. The integrated visualization device will be based on Medigus' micro ScoutCam technology. The micro ScoutCam product portfolio includes video cameras with small diameter heads that use complementary metal oxide semiconductor-based sensors.

2. Under the agreement, Medigus will provide prototypes of the integrated visualization device and produce the first two batches of the device.

3. The project's total budget is $780,000. That amount will be paid based on milestones.

4. A.M. Surgical expects the integrated visualization device to improve surgical control and visualization during endoscopic carpal tunnel release.

"A.M. Surgical is committed to develop minimally invasive surgical devices for the orthopedic field and chose Medigus because of its research and development proficiency," said A.M. Surgical CEO Ather Mirza, MD.
