The FDA granted Intuitive Surgical clearance for the company's fully wristed, 60mm stapler.

1. SureForm 60 is a single-patient use 60mm stapler compatible with the da Vinci Xi and X surgical systems. It is the first to provide 120 degrees of fully wristed articulation.
2. Surgeons control SureForm 60 through the da Vinci surgeon console.
3. The stabler uses SmartFire technology, which measures tissue compression and makes automatic adjustments to the firing process. SmartFire makes more than 1,000 measurements per second to improve staple line consistency and prevent tissue damage.
4. SureForm 60 has general, thoracic, gynecologic, urologic and pediatric indications.
