Bausch Health loses $350M in Q3 — 5 insights

1. Bausch reported total revenues of $2.14 billion for the quarter, down from the $2.22 billion the company reported last year.

2. The company’s Bausch + Lomb brand revenues slipped 7 percent from $1.23 billion in 2017 to $1.15 billion in 2018, which the company said was due to divestitures and discontinuations.

3. The company’s gastroenterology segment, Salix, grew 2 percent from $452 million in 2017 to $460 million in 2018.

4. Bausch Health CEO Joseph C. Papa said in a press release, “These results demonstrate that our progress toward transformation is on track as we continue to execute within our core businesses, launch new products, resolve legacy issues and reduce the total quantum of our debt.”

5. Bausch maintained its 2018 full-year forecast. The company expects to report revenues between $8.15 and $8.35 billion.
