5 things to know about McKesson Corp.

McKesson Medical-Surgical offers a comprehensive portfolio of products and services for ASCs, including custom procedure trays, IV therapy and pharmaceuticals.

Here are five things to know about the company.

1. The company reported $53.6 billion in third-quarter revenue, up 7 percent year-over-year.

Operating profit for McKesson's technology solutions segment dropped to $65 million for the quarter, as a result of contributions to Change Healthcare, the company's sale of its Enterprise Information Solutions business and reduced reimbursement in the company's retail pharmacy business in the U.K.

2. In April, McKesson released findings of an independent board committee investigation into the company's compliance with laws and regulations on opioid distribution. The committee concluded "senior management and the board acted in good faith to meet McKesson's obligations." A McKesson stockholder had requested the investigation.

3. Sysmex American selected McKesson Medical-Surgical as the exclusive distributor for its new XW-100 automated hematology analyzer in February. The Sysmex XW-100 is the first Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments-waived complete blood count diagnostic instrument. The device generates blood test results in as few as three minutes.

4. McKesson employs more than 76,000 individuals.

5. McKesson kicked off 2018 with the acquisition of RxCrossroads Jan. 3. The transaction was valued at $735 million and funded by cash on hand. The company expected the acquisition to enhance existing commercialization solutions for manufacturers of branded, specialty, genetic and biosimilar drugs.
