Private equity firm KKR backs ASC chain Covenant Physician Partners. The company also currently backs AmSurg, the ASC chain formerly owned by Envision, but will lose ownership when Envision restructures following a bankruptcy declaration. The company acquired Envision in October 2018 for $9.9 billion and Covenant Physician Partners in 2017.

2. Bain Capital Private Equity

Bain Capital Private Equity backs Brentwood, Tenn.-based ASC chain Surgery Partners. In November, Surgery Partners snagged an $800 million equity offering and Bain participated with $225 million of the raise.

3. Bryant Park Capital

Bryant Park Capital backs ValueHealth, a fast-growing ASC chain focused on value-based surgical care. The private equity firm recently advised ValueHealth on its partnership with Surgery Partners.

4. Omers

Omers acquired Miami-based Gastro Health in 2021. Since its acquisition, Gastro Health has grown quickly, acquiring practices across the country.

5. Health Velocity Capital

Raleigh, N.C.-based ASC chain Compass Surgical Partners secured a minority investment from Health Velocity Capital, a private equity firm that focuses on healthcare services and software businesses, in 2022.
