Missouri ASC debuts new spinal cord stimulator

The Auburn Surgery Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo., performed the region’s first procedure using Medtronic’s recharge-free Vanta spinal cord stimulator.

Surgeon Chris Reis, MD, performed the procedure, Britt Durham, a Medtronic sales representative, said in a Sept. 1 LinkedIn post.  

The FDA  approved Vanta in June. The device has a battery life of up to 11 years, offering almost twice the device life of competitive primary cell devices.
