DISC Surgery Center enrolling for total disc replacement study

DISC Surgery Center at Newport Beach (Calif.) is enrolling patients for a clinical study on Orthofix’s M6-C artificial disc.

DISC spine surgeons Ali Mesiwala, MD, and Grant Shifflett, MD, are involved in the study which will compare anterior cervical discectomy and fusion and 2-level disc replacement in patients with contiguous two-level symptomatic cervical radiculopathy with or without cord compression, according to a news release.

Surgeons with DISC Surgery Center at Newport Beach have implanted more than 3,000 cervical discs since 2018, Dr. Mesiwala said in the release.
