University Orthopedics expands through partnership — 3 insights

Providence, R.I.-based University Orthopedics and Johnston, R.I.-based The Center for Orthopaedics will enter into a partnership, effective Jan. 1, 2019.

Here’s what you should know:

1. A. Robert Buonanno, MD, Michel Arcand, MD, Michael Belanger, MD, John Czerwin, MD, David Moss, MD, and Vincent Yakavonis, MD, will join University Orthopedics but continue to provide care at The Center for Orthopaedics.

2. University Orthopaedics President Edward Akelman, MD, expressed his excitement for the partnership. He said, “It is our mission to provide the highest quality orthopedic care integrated with world class education and research, and the addition of these fine physicians advances our mission even further.”

3. Dr. Buonanno said the partnership will ultimately expand The Center for Orthopaedics’ offerings, allowing patients to see foot and ankle, pediatrics, trauma and orthopedic oncology specialists.
