Arthrosurface launches stemless shoulder system: 3 details

Arthrosurface launched the OVOMotion shoulder arthroplasty system with inlay glenoid, a stemless shoulder system offering surgeons increased access to the glenoid.

Here are the key details to know:

1. Designed for patients with disabled or painful shoulder joints, the system also allows for minimal bone removal.

2. "This combination of an aspherical head and inlay glenoid has shown to be effective in not only active and younger patients, but in all of those with glenohumeral arthritis, even in the face of posterior subluxation and bone erosion," Anthony Miniaci, MD, an orthopedic surgeon with the Cleveland Clinic, said in a release.

3. The OVOMotion stemless shoulder arthroplasty system is available for use in the U.S.
