WVU Medicine breaks ground of $233M eye institute

Morgantown-based West Virginia University Medicine broke ground on a $233 million eye institute, according to a Jan. 24 report from WVNews.

The new facility will have 102 exam rooms and 44 testing rooms. The current eye institute has 60 exam rooms and 13 testing rooms. 

The expanded eye institute will help WVU Medicine recruit new providers, provide additional services, improve treatment, train specialists and expand clinical research. 

The project is expected to be completed in about 30 months, the report said.
