White House Honors Ocular Therapeutix President, CEO

The chief executive officer and president of Ocular Therapeutix, Amar Sawhney, was honored at the White House with the 2013 Immigrant Innovator Champion for Change award, according to a Wicked Local report.

Ocular Therapeutix, based in Bedford, Mass., focuses on the development of therapeutic ophthalmic products.

Mr. Sawhney is the founder of six companies and holds 120 patents.

This year the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services of the Department of Homeland Security awarded him with the Outstanding American by Choice award.
