Will Ophthalmologists Stop Accepting Insurers That Pay Poorly? 42% Say Yes

Here are three statistics on ophthalmologists' future plans for insurers that commonly deny claims and do no pay well, according to the Medscape Ophthalmologist Compensation Report: 2013.  

 

 

According to the report:
•    42 percent of ophthalmologists plan to drop insurers that do not pay well
•    22 percent of ophthalmologists will not drop these insurers because they need all payers
•    12 percent of ophthalmologist will not drop these insurers because they think it is inappropriate behavior
