Trillium Health Partner’s Dr. Ike Ahmed Performed First Complex Cataract Surgery in Canada With 3D Guidance System

An ophthalmological surgeon at Trillium Health Partners Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga, Ontario in Canada performed the country’s first complex cataract using the TrueVision 3D Surgical System.

Ike Ahmed, MD, chief of the hospital’s division of ophthalmology, performed the surgery and used the TrueVision visualization and guidance platforms to deliver high-definition real-time access.

The device has many advantages for visualization and ergonomics in micro invasive glaucoma surgeries, Dr. Ahmed said.
