Ophthalmologist Dr. John Matthews to Open New NC Practice

Ophthalmologist Dr. John D. Matthews is opening a new practice in Greensboro, N.C., according to a Triad Living report.

The practice, named Triad Retina and Diabetic Eye Center, will be part of the Cone Health Network. Dr. Matthews previously served as a retina specialist with another practice in Greensboro.

 

Dr. Matthews has more than 30 years of experience in medical and surgical treatment of the retina and vitreous and specializes in a number of areas including diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, and retinal vascular disorders.

 

He received his MD from the Medical University of South Carolina. He then completed his residency in ophthalmology at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond and completed a fellowship at Harvard Medical School with the Retina Associates in Boston and the Eye Research Institute of the Retina Foundation.
