Ophthalmologist Dr. Harold Ward Dead at 84

Ophthalmologist and eye surgeon Harold J. Ward has died, according to a Pasadena Star-News report.

Dr. Ward died in Arcadia, Calif. He was 84.

 

Dr. Ward opened his medical practice in Arcadia in 1963, which was later donated to USC’s Doheny Eye Institute in 1996. He was considered by his peers as a pioneer in small-incision cataract surgery.

 

Dr. Ward completed his residency at County General (now LAC/USC), and worked and taught at the institution 1970 until recent years.
