Medical College of Wisconsin Receives Grant to Study Blindness

The Medical College of Wisconsin has received a grant to research causes and treatment of blindness, according to a WauwatosaNOW report.

The grant of $110,000 was awarded by the Research to Prevent Blindness organization.

 

The Medical College of Wisconsin’s research will be led by Dale Heuer, MD, chairman of the department of ophthalmology and director of the Medical College of Wisconsin – Eye Institute.

 

Dr. Heuer received his MD from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, according to his bio. He completed a residency in ophthalmology at the Medical College of Wisconsin – Eye Institute, and a clinical fellowship and research fellowship in glaucoma at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami.
