The grant of $110,000 was awarded by the Research to Prevent Blindness organization.
The research will be directed by Joan W. Miller, MD, chief of the Mass. Eye and Ear and Mass. General Hospital’s departments of ophthalmology and chair of the department of ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Miller received her MD from Harvard Medical School, according to her bio. She completed a residency in ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School, Mass Eye and Ear and a fellowship in retina at Mass. Eye and Ear. Dr. Miller’s research interests are focused on neuroprotection and ocular neovascularization, particularly as it relates to macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
