Dr. Yingbin Fu of Moran Eye Center Receives National Eye Institute Award

Yingbin Fu, MD, is one of 10 winners of the National Eye Institute nationwide Audacious Goals Challenge, part of a government-wide effort to seek the top ideas in vision and science, according to a Desert News report.

Dr. Fu’s award winning idea of Precise Gene Editing In Vivo strives to prevent and cure human ocular diseases through specifically designed molecules that are safely delivered into the eye and programmed to target mutated DNA sequences. Dr. Fu is also an assistant professor of ophthalmology and visual science at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City.
