The Academy points out that the majority of eye conditions are age-related and consequently 50 percent of ophthalmologists have stated that Medicare beneficiaries account for 60 percent of their practices.
Today’s agenda for the Academy includes addressing Medicare cuts, advocating vision research funding, seeking exemptions for EHR adoption and clarifying the function of healthcare providers.
