UPMC Pinnacle readies to open hospital with surgery center — 3 insights

Harrisburg, Pa.-based UPMC Pinnacle expects to open a new hospital with an attached outpatient surgery center in August 2019, Penn Live reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. The 130-bed hospital will replace York (Pa.) Memorial Hospital, bearing the name UPMC Pinnacle Memorial.

2. The five-story surgery center will be attached by an enclosed walkway. It will house imaging services, a sleep lab and drug infusion services.

3. The last beam for the surgery center was placed in mid-December. When complete, the site will have room for expansion.
