The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer in Houston has broken ground on a new 470,000-square-foot facility in Sugar Land.

According to a March 31 news release, the five-story, 470,000-square-foot center is slated to open in 2029 and will be the largest facility constructed by MD Anderson to date. The new facility’s design will also support MD Anderson’s sustainability goals by reducing energy consumption, optimizing natural daylight and minimizing glare and heat gain.

The facility aims to broaden service offerings at MD Anderson’s Sugar Land location and will feature an ASC, expanded diagnostic imaging service, radiation oncology and other outpatient procedural services.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
