Shore Health wins approval for $38.5M freestanding facility with ASC — 3 details

Easton-based University of Maryland Shore Regional Health gained permission to transition Cambridge-based UM Shore Medical Center at Dorchester into a freestanding medical facility, The Star Democrat reports.

1. The health system plans to replace UM Shore Medical Center at Dorchester with the 40,000-square-foot UM Shore Medical Center at Cambridge for nearly $38.5 million.

2. Located beside a new medical pavilion, the freestanding facility will include an ASC with one operating room and one procedure room.

3. The Maryland Health Care Commission gave its approval for the project April 18.
