West Orange, N.J.-based RWJBarnabas Health held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Sept. 16 for a new multispecialty ambulatory care center in Toms River, N.J.
The facility is called the Toms River Nexus Building, according to a Sept. 16 news release. It sits next to Community Medical Center, the system’s Toms River hospital. RWJBarnabas Health Medical Group practices at the site offer urology and women’s health services, including OB-GYN, urogynecology and maternal-fetal medicine. Breast surgery services will start at the facility in 2027.
Physicians from Ocean Gynecological and Obstetrical Associates and the system’s urology and urogynecology teams attended the ceremony. Ocean County Commissioner Deputy Director Jennifer Bacchione and Assemblyman Brian Rumpf also attended.
Aaron Hajart is president and CEO of Community Medical Center. He said the project brings “specialty services in a convenient outpatient setting” to Ocean County residents. Mr. Hajart added that its location next to the hospital connects patients to the medical center’s wider resources.
Michael Prilutsky is executive vice president and CEO of RWJBarnabas Health Medical Group. He said putting several specialties in one location creates a more connected approach to care. Mr. Prilutsky said the setup helps providers work together and makes care easier for patients to navigate.
The Toms River facility is part of RWJBarnabas Health’s systemwide push to expand outpatient specialty care.
