New ASC Development

Boston-based Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center has announced plans to develop a multispecialty ambulatory care center in Quincy, Mass. 

Construction has been completed on the Mercy Center for Performance Medicine and Specialty Care, a multispecialty center on the health system's St. Louis hospital campus.

The University of Missouri-Kansas City has released renderings of its planned $120 million medical and dental office building, the system's largest capital investment to date, according to an Oct. 17 report from Fox 4 News.

New Hampshire is the state with the most job opportunities, while Louisiana is the state with the fewest, according to personal finance site WalletHub. 

Here are three updates on ASC activity in California that Becker's has reported on since Oct. 9:

The Santa Clara (Calif.) planning commission has approved a use permit for the addition of an ASC in an existing building in the area, according to an Oct. 16 report from the Silicon Valley Voice. 

Advocate Health Care is constructing a 60,000-square-foot medical center inside of a shopping mall in Chicago that will include office space, immediate care and an ASC, according to an Oct. 16 report from Block Club Chicago. 

Irvine, Calif.-based Hoag Orthopedic Institute has leased a 12,000-square-foot surgery center space in Aliso Viejo, Calif.

In April, Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Health signed a collaboration agreement with Surgery Partners for the management of the system's existing surgery centers in Utah and Idaho and the development of ASCs in other markets.

On Oct. 9, Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Health and Billings-based Ortho Montana broke ground on the Gallatin Valley Surgery Center in Bozeman, Mont., the Bozeman Daily Chronicle reported Oct. 10.
