New ASC Development

Healthcare development is already in full swing for 2024, with ASCs popping up from coast to coast. 

Here are three updates on ASC activity in the South that Becker's has reported on since Jan. 17:

Rockville Centre, N.Y.-based Catholic Health opened an ambulatory care center in Riverhead, N.Y.

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist broke ground on a $78 million ASC in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Chula Vista, Calif.-based Sharp Rees-Stealy Otay Ranch Medical Center is adding a two-story medical office building as part of an $86 million expansion project, according to a Jan. 17 report from KPBS.

Kyle, Texas-based Plum Creek Surgery Center has signed a 10,500-square-foot lease in Munster, Ind., and plans to open a new facility in the fall, according to a Jan. 17 report from Northwest Indiana Business.

Just two weeks into 2024, several medical office buildings have already started popping up or are due to pop up in the coming months, including three in unusual places: 

A 5,377-square-foot pain ASC is opening in a newly constructed Magnolia (Texas) Medical Specialists building, according to a Jan. 9 report from Community Impact. 

New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System has opened a new outpatient clinic in the Astoria neighborhood of Queens.
