New ASC Development

Here are three updates on ASC activity in the South that Becker's has reported on since May 9:

Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan, Maine, has submitted a proposal to a local planning board to build a three-story, 23,857-square-foot medical office building, according to a June 5 report from centralmaine.com. 

York, Pa.-based WellSpan Health has broken ground on a medical office building and ASC in Carlisle, Pa., according to a June 6 report from Penn Live.

Here are three ASCs in the works at unique locations, as reported by Becker's since Feb. 28:

Indianapolis-based Community Health Network plans to build a $335 million healthcare campus featuring an ASC and medical office building in Westfield, Ind.

Bergenfield, N.J.-based Dello Russo Laser Vision is opening an eye surgery center in New Rochelle, N.Y., Westfair Business Journal reported May 29.

The Biloxi (Miss.) City Council recently approved a $5 million tax increment financing plan for a medical center that will include an ASC, WLOX reported May 29.

A public hearing is set to begin May 28 over a new ASC seeking a certificate of need in Hoover, Ala., according to the Hoover Sun. 

The city of Hoover, Ala., has expanded its legal budget for the fiscal year in an effort to continue pushing for a certificate of need for a new ASC, according to a May 22 report from ABC affiliate 3340.
