New ASC Development

Chicago-based Northwestern Medicine has proposed a new medical office building at its Huntley (Ill.) hospital campus, according to a July 25 report from Shaw Local News Network.

Construction is underway for Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health's new community hospital in Wilmington, N.C., the Novant Scotts Hill Medical Center, according to a July 25 Star News Online report. 

Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist has opened a 20,000-square-foot medical office building in Greensboro, N.C., according to a July 24 report from the Triad Business Journal. 

Here are five new ASCs that opened or are in development in Florida this year, as reported by Becker's since Feb. 5:

Stafford-based Southern Ocean Medical Center has broken ground on their $34 million expansion project. 

A 24,655-square-foot medical office project in Eagle Mountain, Utah, has secured development funds from a private equity investment firm, according to a July 19 report from Utah Business.

Construction has begun on a 23-acre business office park in El Paso, Texas, that will primarily house a medical office park, according to a July 23 report from the El Paso Times.

A proposed 14,999-square-foot medical office building — and an accompanying traffic light — in Aquebogue, N.Y., is facing opposition from residents, according to a July 21 report from the East End Beacon.

Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth is moving forward with plans to construct a medical office building and freestanding emergency room in Poinciana, Fla., according to a July 19 report from the Orlando Business Journal.

Clearwater, Fla.-based BayCare Health System has set an opening date of Aug. 10 for its new $325 million hospital, according to a July 18 BizJournals report.
