New ASC Development

Arjun Gangakhedkar, real estate and financial specialist for the recently formed ASC chain Ker Medical and principal at QHM Partners, joined Becker's to discuss two major risks to ASC real estate development. 

Raleigh, N.C.-based Compass Surgical Partners has linked with Lubbock, Texas-based physicians to develop an ASC in Lubbock, EverythingLubbock.com reported Oct. 31. 

Mishawaka, Ind.-based Franciscan Health recently began construction on a 82,881-square-foot medical office building in Valparaiso, Ind., wimsradio.com reported Oct. 30.

Charleston, S.C.-based MUSC Health has broken ground on an 80,000-square-foot medical office building, the Clements Ferry Pavilion. 

Opening an ASC, particularly in a state with certificate-of-need laws, often requires years of administrative work.
