As healthcare continues to adapt and evolve to shifting market forces, medical office buildings have become a target for healthcare real estate investors.

Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Sanford Health and Marshfield (Wis.) Clinic Health System have finalized a merger and are now operating singularly as Sanford Health, Valley News Live reported Jan. 2. 

A judge in Connecticut dismissed a 2021 appeal by Day Kimball Healthcare against the state and Hartford HealthCare over approval of a Plainfield, Conn.-based ASC, according to a Dec. 31 report from Hartford Business Journal.

Springfield, Mo.-based CoxHealth took the first steps toward building a pediatric outpatient center, the Springfield Daily Citizen reported Jan. 2.

Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare has withdrawn the zoning application for its planned Middle Virginia Surgicenter in Hanover, Va., after a lengthy certificate-of-need approval process, Richmond Biz Sense reported Dec. 19.
