New ASC Development

A proposed ASC in Marlboro Township, N.J., could benefit community members, according to developer Frank Festa.

Green Bay, Wis.-based Aurora BayCare Medical Center plans to build a 72,000-square-foot facility featuring a clinic, an ASC and an urgent care center, the Post Crescent reports.

Buffalo, N.Y.-based UB Neurosurgery broke ground on a 60,000-square-foot facility in Amherst, N.Y. 

Construction began on the $50 million Baylor Scott & White Sports and Orthopedic Center in Waco, Texas.

Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center still has a chance to open an ASC in Niskayuna, N.Y., although a state committee rejected the proposal, Albany Business Review reports.

The Elizabethtown, Ky., Department of Planning and Development approved Louisville, Ky.-based Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers' development plan for a new medical office building and surgery center, The News-Enterprise reports.

Schenectady, N.Y.-based Ellis Medicine is seeking to block Albany (N.Y.) Med's request to build an ASC nearby in Niskayuna, N.Y., The Daily Gazette reports.

Braselton (Ga.) Surgical Specialist Center filed a letter of intent to establish an ASC in Braselton.

Anchor Health Properties and Knoxville-based Tennessee Valley Eye Surgery Center opened an 18,000-square-foot ASC in Knoxville.
