New ASC Development

Cardiology practice Florida Heart Associates is building an ASC in an expansion and renovation of its central facility in Fort Myers.

Here are eight hospitals and health systems that announced plans for an ASC in March:

Olathe (Kan.) Health has submitted to the city council plans to develop a two-story medical office building with an ASC, according to Kansas City Business Journal.

An underutilized clinic and circulation space is being converted to an ASC in Glendale, Ariz., dubbed the Phoenix Heart Ambulatory Surgery Center. 

Construction has begun on the Delray Beach, Fla.-based Addison Medical Centre, which will house Tenet Florida Physician Services' new outpatient vascular surgery program.

Raleigh (N.C.) Orthopaedic Clinic and Rex Healthcare are planning a third ASC in a community where population has increased 18.7 percent since 2010.

A partnership between Raleigh, N.C.-based ASC developer Compass Surgical Partners, Tampa-based Orthopaedic Associates of West Florida and Orthopaedic Specialties of Tampa Bay announced a new joint, spine and orthopedic ASC in West Florida.

Gilbert, Ariz.-based Comprehensive Integrated Care's 16,000-square-foot ASC is now operational. 

An ophthalmologist received approval to convert a restaurant into an ASC in New York, Buffalo Business First reported March 29.

Norwalk-based the Surgery Center of North Central Ohio opened in January and has seen 50 patients since, the Norwalk Reflector reported March 27.
