Tennessee's new certificate-of-need laws raise ASC fees by 1,900 percent.

Regent Surgical Health, Orthopedic Associates of Long Island (N.Y.) and Long Island, N.Y.-based Catholic Health opened a multispecialty ASC, according to a news release. 

Houston-based Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center "topped out" the $426 million expansion of its McNair Campus, which includes an ASC and endoscopy center, Woodlands Online reported. 

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is opening a $34.5 million medical office building with an ASC in Rio Rancho, N.M., the Rio Rancho Observer reported.

There have been no ASCs opened or announced this year in West Virginia, Medscape's worst state for physicians to practice.

Colorado, one of Medscape's best states for physicians to practice, has seen four new ASCs open or get announced since Jan. 1. 

Wilmington (N.C.) Health broke ground on its new ASC, WWAYTV 3 reported June 24.

Florida had the most new ASCs opened since Jan. 1 — with 12 out of the more than 104 ASCs Becker's ASC Review reported on.

Cincinnati-based Mercy Health is taking over the formerly privately run Canfield (Ohio) Surgery Center, WKBN reported June 23. 

Moose Lake (Minn.) City Council approved the rezoning of a former Shopko building from commercial to medical, making way for a possible ASC, the Moose Lake Star Gazette reported June 17.
