New ASC Development

St. Louis-based Ascension and Chicago-based Regent Surgical, the country's largest private joint-venture operator of ASCs, are opening a gastroenterology ASC in Birmingham, Ala., according to a Nov. 1 report in the Shelby County Reporter.

The Orthopedic Hospital of Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Lutheran Health Network is expanding to Gas City, Ind., with a surgery center, a clinic and a physical therapy center, according to a Nov. 1 report in The Echo.

Construction is underway on a medical office building and surgery center in Las Vegas, local NBC affiliate 3 News reported Oct. 31. 

West Tennessee Healthcare is opening an orthopedic surgery center in Jackson in November, the Jackson Sun reported Oct. 29. 

Emory Healthcare is building a musculoskeletal facility with an ASC in Brookhaven, Ga., according to The Champion.

St. Louis Children's Hospital has added a 77,000-square-foot specialty care center in southern St. Louis County, the St. Louis Business Journal reported Oct. 28.

The University of Maryland Shore Regional Health at Cambridge, a new $53 million medical facility with an ASC, began accepting patients Oct. 28, according to The Star Democrat. 

Bellin Health announced plans for an ASC in Ashwaubenon, Wis., the Green Bay Press Gazette reported Oct. 28. 

JPS Health Network is seeking funds to offset the costs of a $1.2 billion expansion that includes an ASC in Fort Worth, Texas, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Oct. 27.
