New ASC Development

Dallas-based United Surgical Partners International and San Francisco-based Dignity Health are opening a joint-venture ASC in Citrus Heights, Calif., RCP Construction said Feb. 11 on LinkedIn.

For several years, healthcare players across the board have been feeling the momentum toward outpatient care. With so many new ASCs being built in recent years, architecture and construction firms are noticing the trend, too.

Atrium Health will open a $150 million hospital campus, its largest in nearly 40 years, Feb. 23 in Stallings, N.C., according to the Charlotte Observer. 

Montrose (Colo.) Regional Health is building a four-story outpatient care complex, Montrose Press reported Feb. 10, the same day the news outlet reported on a similar project nearby.

Four ASC projects in 2022 have cost more than $150 million. 

Rockford, Ill.-based OrthoIllinois has finalized its plan to build an ASC in Beloit, Wis., after a year of opposition from Beloit Health System, the city's largest employer, the Beloit Daily News reported this week. 

University of Rochester (N.Y.) Medical Center is converting a former Sears building within a mall to an orthopedic healthcare campus with an ASC, The Wall Street Journal reported Feb. 1.

Arkansas Heart Hospital is building a cardiology ASC and clinic in Texarkana, Texas, the Texarkana Gazette reported Feb. 9. 

Nearly a month after Iowa City, Iowa-based Steindler Orthopedic Clinic's proposed North Liberty ASC lost its hospital backing, The Gazette reported Feb. 7 that the hospital, Mercy Iowa City, has renewed its cooperation.
