New ASC Development

The Dutchess Ambulatory Surgical Center in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., is relocating within the city, the Hudson Valley Post reported Nov. 30.

Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist has received regulatory approval to open a $30.13 million ASC in Greensboro, N.C., according to a Nov. 18 report from the Winston-Salem Journal. 

Gainesville, Fla.-based UF Health and Jacksonville-based Jax Spine and Pain Centers have opened a $25 million multispeciality surgery center in Jacksonville, according to a Nov. 18 report from WJCT News. 

Chesterton, Ind.-based Northwest Health Lakeshore Surgicare has completed a 4,600-square-foot expansion on its facility, which provides orthopedic and neurospine services according to a Nov. 17 report from the The Times of Northwest Indiana. 

Ambulatory surgical centers face multiple risks that could interrupt and devastate the business. The traditional method of protecting against these risks is insurance coverage, but coverage for these rare but catastrophic events is extremely expensive.

The University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City has announced its 10-year medical campus transformation plan, which includes developing an outpatient clinic, with work beginning in 2023.
