Episcopal Health Services opened the Walsh Ambulatory Pavilion, a new outpatient facility in the Rockaways, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony May 1, Rockaway Times reported May 7.

The 65,000-square-foot, five-story facility brings together primary care and specialty services including cancer care, radiology, behavioral health, OB-GYN, endocrinology and gastroenterology, according to Episcopal Health Services. The pavilion also includes a new endoscopy center.

The building was named for Gerard M. Walsh, former CEO and board member of Episcopal Health Services. EHS CEO Donald Morrish, MD, said the facility expands access to local healthcare services for residents of the Rockaway peninsula.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
