Mission Trail Baptist Hospital opens surgery center to meet demand

San Antonio-based Mission Trail Baptist Hospital opened a surgery center to accommodate an increase in surgeries, according to the San Antonio Express-News.

Three details to know:

1. Mission Trail’s surgical volume increased 13 percent from 2016 to 2017.

2. A pair of surgical suites built on the hospital’s second floor will operate as an outpatient surgical center.

3.The hospital also acquired a robot for use in minimally invasive surgeries.
