The joint venture Champaign (Ill.) Surgery Center will open Feb. 4, replacing the older Champaign SurgiCenter, The News-Gazette reports.
What you should know:
1. The surgery center is a joint venture between Urbana, Ill.-based Carle and Champaign-based Christie Clinic.
2. The center is 27,678 square feet and features eight operating rooms, 10 preoperative bays and 27 recovery bays.
3. Center physicians specialize in plastic surgery, vascular surgery, gynecology, urology, gastroenterology, orthopedics, eye and oral surgeries.
4. The center is located near Christie Clinic's new medical office building, and Carle Outpatient Services' facility.
5. Christie Clinic CEO Kenny Bilger said, "Along with our partners at Carle, our goal is to provide patients with better experiences and health outcomes."
