Holston Medical Group wins approval for $3.7M ASC addition — 5 highlights

The Tennessee Health Services and Development Agency approved Kingsport, Tenn.-based Holston Medical Group’s certificate of need to build a $3.7 million multispecialty ASC.

Here’s what you should know.

1. Located on the second floor of the HMG Meadowview facility in Kingsport, the surgery center will perform an estimated 5,113 procedures its first year.

2. It will feature three surgical suites. “A number of providers” will be contracted to offer anesthesiology, pathology and other services.

3. The center will create 35 jobs.

4. HMG will spend about $1.8 million on medical equipment and around $1.9 million on capital improvements.

5. Construction will begin this year. An expected completion date has yet to be announced.
