De novo, turnaround or established ASCs? Here’s what buyers prefer

Most organizations pursuing an ASC acquisition prefer established centers over turnaround or de novo opportunities, according to HealthCare Appraisers‘ “2019 ASC Valuation Survey.”

HealthCare Appraisers and the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association collected data from 26 respondents, including ASC management companies, investment bankers and business brokers.

Buyer preference for ASC acquisitions:

1. De novo: 37 percent
2. Turnarounds: 16 percent
3. Established cash-flowing: 47 percent
