Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital to open $35M outpatient surgery center: 3 key details

Chicago-based Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital is set to open a new outpatient surgery center next month in Northbrook, Ill., Crain’s Chicago Business reported.

Here are three key details to know:

1. The 26,000-square-foot facility is located adjacent to a smaller outpatient location that opened in 2014. Lurie plans to invest $35.6 million into the facility, which includes the amount paid in rent.

2. The new surgery center will have four operating rooms.

3. Lurie operates 12 outpatient centers in the area, with 70 percent of the hospital’s procedures being performed in an outpatient setting.
