Orthopedic Surgery Center of Orange County (Newport Beach, Calif.). The ASC embraced price transparency in 2013. The center shares its cash/self pay rates on its website, which can help patients make more informed decisions. An Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care-accredited ASC, the facility offers orthopedic surgical services, including fracture repair, hand surgery and spine surgery.

90210 Surgery Medical Center (Beverly Hills, Calif.). The surgery center is an early adopter of technology, which it incorporates into its marketing strategy. For example, the center implemented a total joint replacement program and selected HealthLoop to engage patients. The HealthLoop program sends custom educational information, reinforcement materials and reminders to patients via email or text messages to optimize patient education, preparation, recovery and improved outcomes. The ASC also works with the TV show "The Doctors." In addition to total joint procedures, the center's physicians also perform gynecologic, ophthalmologic, oncologic and general surgery procedures.

The Center Innovative GYN Care (Rockville, Md.). The ASC uses radio, digital media and spot cable to engage patients in their local market and the country. The center focuses on closely tying tie patient information to marketing information. The surgery center leverages media tools and video production to help enhance the ASC's message. The facility offers numerous gynecologic procedures, including minimally invasive myomectomy, ovarian cystectomy and hysteroscopy.
