5 leadership moves in July | 2023

Here are five executive role changes reported by Becker’s since July 19:

1. Hetal Karsan, MD, was elected the newest governor of Georgia for the American College of Gastroenterology. 

2. Edison, N.J.-based Hackensack Meridian Health named Gregory Rokosz, DO, chief medical officer for Old Bridge (N.J.) Medical Center and Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, N.J.

3. Wyatt Decker, MD, former CEO of Optum Health, transitioned into the role of executive vice president and chief physician of value-based care at UnitedHealth Group.

4. Amar Desai, MD, was named CEO of Optum Health, a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group’s Optum.

5. Fountain Valley, Calif.-based MemorialCare added David Kim, MD, as CEO of MemorialCare Medical Foundation, which encompasses MemorialCare Medical Group, Greater Newport Physicians and more than 200 outpatient care centers.
