3. Throughout his nearly 30-year career, Dr. Donnenfeld has made several notable contributions to ophthalmology. He was the first surgeon in the Northeastern U.S. to perform laser cataract surgery, and he played a pivotal role in studies that led to the FDA approving excimer laser technology.
4. Dr. Donnenfeld is editor-in-chief of EyeWorld. He also participates on the editorial boards of nine other academic journals.
5. Additionally, Dr. Donnenfeld is an American Academy of Ophthalmology fellow. The society awarded him its Honor Award, Senior Honor Award, Lifetime Achievement Award and Secretariat Award.
