High school student Virginia Tanner is the 2018 recipient of Hickory, N.C.-based Viewmont Surgery Center's annual scholarship.
Here are four highlights.
1. Ms. Tanner is a senior at Hickory High School and plans to study chemistry at UNC-Chapel Hill in the fall.
2. Viewmont Surgery Center awarded Ms. Tanner a check for $2,000.
3. The 11,000-square-foot ASC opened in 2007.
4. With three operating rooms, the facility offers otolaryngology, orthopedic, pain management, podiatry, plastics and dentistry services.
