7 tips for choosing an ASC for your practice

Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Advanced Ambulatory Surgery Center published tips to help physicians chose a surgery center.

Here's what AASC said physicians should consider when deciding where to practice:

1. Consult local colleagues or medical societies with knowledge about facilities in the area.

2. Inquire about the ASC's infection rates within the last five years.

3. Evaluate whether the surgery center provides the appropriate equipment for your specialty.

4. Determine if the facility would have a private room for a VIP patient.

5. See if reputable physicians practice at the facility by checking the surgery center's website.

6. Look up what patients and physicians have written about the facility in Google, Yelp and Facebook reviews.

7. Assess the center's flexibility with scheduling and scheduling blocks.
