The new building, in development for more than three years, opened April 29, according to a May 6 announcement. Services include colorectal surgery, inflammatory bowel disease care and ostomy programs.
For Nita Ahuja, MD, department of surgery chair, the move was a long time coming.
“The digestive health service line strategy was one of the first reports on my desk when I joined the department in 2018, and the lack of space was one of the major challenges for our team, so this is a significant milestone,” she said.
